METHOD The template structure, 1TUM, was identified using PSI-Blast.  A 
METHOD multiple sequence alignment was generated for this family in MACAW. 
METHOD The N-terminal region was homologous throughout the family and 
METHOD therefore relatively easily aligned.  The C-terminus region, which
METHOD lacked detectable homology, was aligned by secondary structure 
METHOD prediction and hydrophobicity patterns. The alignment was imported into
METHOD Insight/Homology. Model 1 of the NMR file was used as the template. 
METHOD The sequence was adjusted to match the alignment.  This was submitted 
METHOD to Modeler directly from Insight. Five models were generated, and the 
METHOD the model with the highest pdf score (lowest -ln[pdf]) was chosen. 
METHOD This model is used as a benchmark to judge and compare the reliability 
METHOD of automatic or homology models on good alignments.
