METHOD A PSI-Blast showing significant similarity between target and EF-hand  
METHOD proteins and was confirmed by Blast searches against PDB and by  
METHOD literature searches showing that the similarity had been reported  
METHOD previously. A superposition of representative EF-hand structures from  
METHOD PDB, including calmodulin, troponin C, parvalbumin and calbindin yielded  
METHOD the location of structurally conserved residues. This was used to align  
METHOD the target, excluding its C-terminal 26 residues, which do not appear to  
METHOD match any of the potential EF-hand templates.
