REMARK 
METHOD Local structure was predicted using the I-sites method 
METHOD (JMB, in press). Regions predicted with high confidence 
METHOD were fixed while assembling larger units. The sequence of 
METHOD this target was noted to have self-similarity and two disulfides. 
METHOD Simulations were done using the method of K.Simons et al  
METHOD (JMB 268: 209-225). First the disulfide region was simulated. 
METHOD Over many simulations, a consensus was found. This was fixed 
METHOD and the region simulated was extended, from 19 residues to 50 
METHOD to 101 residues. In the final simulation step, several distance 
METHOD restraints were used, based on observations of patterns 
METHOD of hydrophobics on the surface of the previously fixed fragments 
METHOD and the assumption of symmetry between the two self-similar 
METHOD halves. However, symmetry was not explicitly enforced. 
METHOD A model was chosen that best fit the distance restraints. 
METHOD Sidechains were added using the program of Dunbrack; bumps 
METHOD were removed by an in-house method.
